Manypeoplemay usethewordstouristandtravelerinterchangeably,butessentially,there is a significantdifference.However,an individualcan definethechoiceof thewordaccordingto thecontextof theexcursion.Itis easyto identifya touristbecausetheycarrytheir guidebooks,maps,anda camera as wellas wearingconspicuousclothesthat identifythem as tourists.Theydonot engagein learningthecultureof thelocallanguage,andtheypreferlargecitiesthan smallertowns.On theotherhand,a travelerengages him/herself holistically to theactionsof thelocalculturebeingvisited.Theyexplorelesstraveledplacesandlookfornewexperienceswhiletheyinteractwith thelocals. Their undertakingis a journeyratherthan a vacation.

Personally,I am a touristwhoengagesin vacationwithout toomuchengagementwith thelocalintegrationof thevisitedculture.I donot doitpassionately,butI engagein tourism as a planto takea breakfrom my day-to-day activities.TheexcursionsthatI haveundertakenwith my friendsare noexception.Weare alltouristswhoengagelesswith thelocalculture.Manyindividualsstickto their guidebooks,andtheydonot go,beholdtheir comfortzones,includinglearningof localculturesandlanguages.

Learninga businessrequiresan understandingof theenvironment,thepeople,andtheculture.Beinga travelercallforintegrationof thepeopleof thatplaceandsurroundingyourself with thelocals in an attemptto understandthem. One is supposedto identifythefocal placewhereeveryone meetsin orderto initiatea conversationwith thepeople,an initiativethat will broadenan individualworldview. Consequently, beinga futurebusinessleaderwill entailtheimplementation of thepersonallessonsandtravelermotivationto runa business.In thiscontext,theknowledgeacquiredin understandingthecultureof thepeoplewill assistthebusinessleaderin makingdecisionsbased on theneedforthatsociety.

Whena society,language,andtheenvironmentalaspectsareunderstood,a businessleaderwill be ableto runhis/her businesswith a cleargoalof meetingtheir specificneeds.In addition,thetraveleris passionatelyabsorbedin whathe/shedoes.Thesameaspectshould beadoptedwhenrunninga business.In fact,businessleaderis supposedto channelallhis/her effortsin going,beholdthesetgoalsandobjectivesandrecordingall theactivities,which should be reviewedlaterforimprovement.

Inconclusion,beinga travelerentailsa profoundawarenessof anysituationthatweencounterin life.In fact,thesameapproachshould be adoptedin our businessstrategiessothatweachievethefullbenefitsof our initiativesandhavea differentperspectiveon howweseethings.Indeed,recording allthe business activitiesactas a motivationforotherfutureendeavors.
