Theimpact of acculturative stress, language difficulties, and socialadjustment on the achievement of Saudi students

Insummary, acculturative stress, language difficulties, and socialadjustment has had numerous effects on the achievement of Saudistudents. These three factors differentiate the Saudi students fromothers, making them feel misplaced in the schools that they areenrolled to. Such differences also alienate them from involvingthemselves in various educational activities, thereby underminingtheir ability to absorb knowledge at the rate of the other non-Saudistudents. Since these factors have come into the limelight as themain contributors to the poor performance of the Saudi students, itis important for the Saudi students to be informed on the variousways in which they can avoid the degree to which acculturativestress, language difficulties, and social adjustment can affect theirperformance. As the research suggests, many of the students areoblivious of the effect of these factors but understanding them andhow to overcome their effect will help the Saudi students be able tocope with the academic environment in the US learning institutions. The most important aspect that was to be discovered was the influenceof these factors and how its understanding could help the Saudistudents in coping up with the new learning environments. Such adiscovery would help coming up with the right interventions inhelping the Saudi students. In future research, it is recommendedthat more studies should delve into the development of strategiesthat make the Saudi students get along easier with their non-Saudistudents and the environment in general. These studies shouldconsider acquiring information from the non-Saudi students and theirgeneral thinking towards the Saudi students. This is because, theproblem could not only be the environment or the Saudi students but amultiplicity of factors, which needed to addressed in ensuringoptimal performance of the Saudi students.
