The inquirybased model is important in that the students grasp the informationin a better way through understanding of the process used to arriveat a solution. It produces information that can be used through thelifetime of the student. Students also understand how to make use ofthe data and turn it into sensible information such that even if thefacts change, the information will be available readily.

According tothe authors of this model, other models focus on the solution, andnot how the solution was arrived at. This model also gives differentviews about the world that are interrelated. Through the involvementof the learner, he is able to understand things around them, andconsequently one can communicate this information.


I agree withthe authors to a great extent in that it changes the way things aredone, and gives a deeper understanding. It is like the practical bitof sciences that the learners find hard to forget. Using the humansenses enables the learner to store the information for a longertime, and use it in the future. In the classroom it would be used insolving arithmetic and explaining how a certain formula was arrivedat. However, this model has weaknesses in that it will affect thoselearners who are not inquisitive and won’t ask questions becausethey will feel left out. In class, there are those students who aregood at answering questions but on the other hand there are stillthose who do not raise their hands to answer questions. Forcing sucha person to this model would be disadvantageous to them.
